The Tängo Philosophy: Flexibility and Quality
What makes Tängo special is its modern and contemporary course system. All courses run in parallel each week, and participants can freely switch their course day. Would you like to dance on Tuesday this week and prefer Friday or Sunday next week? No problem! This flexibility allows you to optimally integrate dancing into your daily life.
Additionally, at Tängo you determine your own learning pace. All courses are continuous and repeat after a certain time. You stay in a course level as long as you want and progress to the next level when you feel ready. This individual approach ensures that all participants feel comfortable and can make progress at their own pace.
West Coast Swing and the World Dance Programme
As part of the recognised World Dance Programme (WTP) for partner dancing, Tängo also offers West Coast Swing. The World Dance Programme has been honoured by UNESCO as a “Good Practice Example for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage” and comprises five music styles: Waltz, Disco, Swing, Latino and Tango.
West Coast Swing belongs to the Swing category and is a modern, elegant partner dance that can be danced to a wide variety of music styles – from Blues and R’n’B to Funk, Pop and club sounds. The characteristic linear dynamics (slot), flowing movements and the opportunity for musical interpretation make WCS one of the most versatile and expressive dances.
